ITALY – Listen to the story of Capsula Mundi in a special interview with its creator Raoul Bretzel.

He invented the concept of Capsula Mundi along with fellow designer Anna Citelli. The two Italians embarked on an innovative cultural project to reimagine the coffin. The result was Capsula Mundi, launched at the Milan Furniture Fair in 2003. It’s a unique egg-shaped eco-pod container for the deceased. Raoul shares the story of Capsula Mundi’s journey and why they want trees not tombstones to honour the dead. They’ve launched a Kickstarter campaign to create a smaller version of the eco-pod that can contain cremated ashes.
