Why hospitals need to be ‘hospice friendly’

Mary Lovegrove and Bryan Nolan from the Irish Hospice Foundation share the great work taking place in Irish hospitals and care homes to make them more hospice friendly. About half of the population of Ireland actually die in acute hospitals yet the facilities around end-of-life needed a lot of help. The Design & Dignity Project is providing practical support, expertise and financial assistance. The project has gone on to create peaceful family rooms, bereavement suites and even renovated out-dated mortuary facilities.
